Kargil{2704m}, 204 kms from Srinagar in the west, is the second largest urban centre of Ladakh and headquarters of the district of same name.

Places of Tourist interest : Dras- 57 km. short of Kargil is reputed to be the 2nd coldest injabited place in the world./Suru Valley-fertile valley of immense beauty.
